Looking for a small but intimate idea for your wedding. Let me tell you what I did. My husbands imediate family is VERY small, and mine is huge. When we were planning our day, I was worried about the guest list, so we finally decided to have a very small ceremony with just the parents, grandparents and brothers and sisters (12 people total). Everyone who was there to hear our vows was in tears and said it was the most intimate and emotional wedding they had ever been to. We splurged on the dinner reception afterwards and invited everyone we knew with all the bells and whistles. The ceremony was just as perfect as we had hoped for, emotional and beautiful but inexpensive, and the reception, crazy, wild, and so much fun. Hope this helps.

    Hi A.E.B.,

We opted for a destination wedding in St. Thomas, and like yours it was intimate and romantic with a tropical backdrop. It was also my personal opinion that 10 years down the road when you look at your wedding photos, you have probably lost touch with many of your bridesmaids.

    Thanks for the post!

I come from a dysfunctional family, meaning that there has been a lot of remarriage! So there was a lot of family on my side. My husband’s family has remained in tact with no divorce in the immediate family, but his mother is 1 of 7 children and his father is 1 of 12 children. Needless to say, we had a large ceremony and reception. This is the main reason that we had the ceremony at the reception site. It was so much easier than expecting all of those people to travel.

We did want a big wedding because we have so much family and we rarely get the chance to see them all. It was wonderful to have everyone together in one place!

I love the sound of both of your weddings! An intimate wedding is a wonderful way to celebrate and a tropical wedding is something I can only dream about!

I read similar article also named Wedding Planning, and it was completely different. Personally, I agree with you more, because this article makes a little bit more sense for me
